About the Classes
FoCo Technique w/ Yin Yue: This 90 min FoCo class requires sophisticated understanding of dance technique and demands strong physical and mental attention and stamina. Students will study the technical elements Triggering, Rooting and Mapping in a follow-along streamline structure. Phrase work with be created and taught in each class after the technique training. Students are encouraged to embody the technique by following closely to the shape and form first. Once the flow becomes comfortable, invest into the movement and develop artistic connection between the physical frame and intension.
Contract for Dancers w/ Joseph Tedeschi: Any maker, producer or performer of artwork will need to enter into contracts, sign basic agreements and perhaps even form a company related to your work. As Andy Warhol famously said, "working is art and being good at business is the best art". This class will help you gain a basic understanding about the formation of contracts, your rights and obligations when entering into contracts, and issues of special interest to artists. We will also touch upon various issues related to how and why to set up a corporation or non-profit entity for your work. We will also discuss how the ongoing COVID crisis has impacted the artistic community.
Yin the Zone Workout w/ Yin Yue: is a whole body workout taught by dancer, choreographer and fitness trainer Yin Yue. The 60 min workout program features music driven and movement based sequences that achieve the goal of fitness. No equipment required for this class.
Contemporary w/ Ching Ching Wong: Oscillate between stillness, rigor, groove, and suppleness in a continuous movement warm up and created phrase work set to tunes from the late 90's and early 2000's. Together let us move to find nostalgia of the past and community in the present. Although dance and class has taken on new and unimaginable forms in this time, WE are still dancers. As Judith Jamison said, "dance is not endangered- it will always find a way to express itself".
